Dr. Janet Monge
Physical Anthropologist
Dr. Janet Monge is currently the acting Curator-in-charge of the physical anthropology section of the Penn Museum, an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, and an adjunct associate professor in sociology at USP. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Penn State University in anthropology and graduated Magna cum Laude in 1975. She went on to receive her PhD in anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. Dr. Monge has been awarded numerous awards and grants for her work, including the popular, "Surviving: The Body Of Evidence," a new exhibition on Human Adaptation and Evolution. However impressive her academic credentials and work, Dr. Monge is perhaps best known amongst the Philadelphia area's young people for the summer Forensic Science program she runs for high school students each year.
